• Located in the high desert of Southern California, Baldy Mesa Studios is a jewelry and lapidary studio owned and operated by master jeweler and lapidary John F. Heusler, G.G.

    John is an accomplished metalsmith and has been making jewelry and cutting stones for over 55 years. A St. Louis native, he owned and operated a fine jewelry store in the greater St. Louis area for 31 years. Additionally, he is a Graduate Gemologist and is well-known for his gemstone and lapidary expertise.

    He has written 17 articles for Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist magazine and appeared on the cover 14 times. He currently writes about Native American artists in Native American Art magazine.

    He conducts workshops around the US on lapidary techniques, including cabochons, inlay, and intarsia, as well as bullet, tongue, and sugar loaf cuts. Additionally, he offers private jewelry-making instruction and structured lessons.
